We are born with the innate ability to move with freedom.
We move to perform tasks both easy and complex, to express ourselves, to interact with the world, and to get things done.
The habits, stresses and tensions of life can challenge our innate abilities, sometimes to the point of crippling our capacity to move and think with ease.
The Alexander Technique has a 120-year history of teaching people how to use their bodies well again. It has been studied by thinkers and scientists, and taught in performing arts schools throughout the world.
The Technique's adherents have included actors Paul Newman, Annette Bening, Kevin Kline, Maggie Smith and William Hurt, writers Aldous Huxley, John Dewey and Roald Dahl, Nobel prizewinner Nicolas Tinbergen, musicians Paul McCartney, Sting,
Yehudi Menuhin and James Galway, and athletes such as John McEnroe and Linford Christie.
